People often describe the Frenchie puppy, or French Bulldog, as “a clown in the cloak of a philosopher.” It originated as a companion dog and continues to serve that purpose today. The breed is small and muscular with a heavy bone structure, smooth coat, short face and trademark “bat” ears. Prized for its affectionate nature and even disposition, the French Bulldog is generally active and alert, but not unduly boisterous.
